Dinner in the House of Commons
Cheryl is the conservative MP for Amersham & Chesham. She was the Secretary of State for Wales from 2010 to 2012 in David Cameron's Government.
She was first elected to the House of Commons in 1992 and was a junior minister for Education and Employment from 1995 to 1997 in John Major's government. After 1997 she served as a Conservative whip and as a spokesperson for Trade and Industry, Foreign Affairs, and Home Affairs. As such she is the longest serving female Conservative MP.
She also currently serves as the Acting Joint Chairman of the influential 1922 committee and has recently been frequently seen on TV announcing the voting results to be the next Conservative Leader - and thus Prime Minister - culminating with the appointment of Boris Johnson..
